Welcome to the North Cyprus '15th
International Bellapais Music Festival' under the auspices of
His Excellency President Dr. Derviş Eroğlu. We would like to
express our gratitude to The President’s Office, the Embassy of
Turkey, Ministry of Economy and Tourism, all governmental and
private organizations, companies, establishments and lovers of
music for their valuable support and contribution in sponsoring
'The Festival' since its birth.
In his letter to the 'Festival Committee', former UN
Peacekeeping Force Commander wrote the following: "My wife and I
are extremely privileged to have been among the honorary guests
to grace the North Cyprus International Bellapais Music
Festival. We are truly impressed with the magnificent display of
exceptional talents from all parts of the world. Please pass on
our compliments and heartfelt congratulations to the "brains
behind" the International Bellapais Music Festival for having
selected an array of music virtuosos...If only my very busy
schedule permits, I would have wanted to watch and enjoy all the
performances of these wonderful talents. I wish to truly
congratulate these artists for their magnificent performances
and thank them for sharing their God's gift to the whole world.

Commander, United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus.
Following his Bellapais Festival victory, world famous German
bariton Ivo Berkenbusch's hand writing expressed his impressions
with such words: “Thank you for being invited to this very
important international Music Festival in Bellapais. I am very
surprised that your Festival is that professionally organised.
Even German Festival leaders could learn from your
professionality. Thank you for everything."
The concert of the 'Milano String Quartet' at the Bellapais
Festival received a long and standing ovation. The Cellist of
the Quartet, Luca De Muro stated his opinion to the media
members as;“ We gave concerts almost everywhere, but Bellapais
is different. The Abbey is alive with its architecture,
illuminations, acoustics, with its village and hospitable
villagers, pubs and restaurants. Here in this village history is
alive, and Bellapais is a common treasure for all of us. Playing
at Bellapais is a privilege and honour for all musicians. We
will not forget this magnificent evening and the superb audience
of Bellapais.”
Organizing a festival naturally takes long tiresome months but
its worth receiving such messages. By means of exceptional
supports and contributions, Bellapais and the festival has an
outstanding piano. It's a jewel with "a velvet sound", it is a
Bösendorfer. Bellapais is a truly distinguished concert hall at
international standards with its superb accoustics and with its
magnificent piano.
Welcome to “A unique experience at the breathtaking atmosphere
of the Bellapais Abbey”, which unites music lovers of Northern
Cyprus with our guests visiting Northern Cyprus to share and
enjoy the universal language of classical music from 20 May
onwards for four weeks, this year and every year.
